英検で論理を鍛えよう！
英検では、２０１７年度から３級と準２級にもライティングが導入され、
一回りしてやっと定着した感があります。
それに合わせて、他の級も内容が改革されました。
方向性をざっくり言うならば、TOEFLのパターンになりました。
例えば、３級だと
「夏と冬とではどちらが好きですか？理由を二つあげて、答えなさい」
みたいな感じです。
まず結論を言って、理由をいくつか挙げる、と言うパターンです。
これは日本人のマインドの改革になるんじゃないかと思います。
と言うのは、我々は結論を「ばーん！」と言うのも苦手だし、
理由を明確に述べるのも得意ではありません。
（ま、これが日本人の味でもあるのですがー）
この日本人独特のマインドをちょっと横に置いといて、
論理的に話す力が付くとしたら、外国人とのコミュニケーションも
もっとよくなるんじゃないかと思います。なぜなら、欧米人だろうと
中国人だろうと、これが世界標準だからです。
そういう点では、英検のライティングの勉強は、深い意味があるような
気がします。

Step Test, the biggest English qualification test in Japan started writing
tests last year.
In my opinion, this reform will help Japanese people change mindsets
by pushing us into more logical communication.
Logical communication requires 2 steps:
2) Say the reasons as clearly as possible.
However, I’m afraid, this way of communication seems difficult for us,
because we prefer to keep everything indirect. Personally I sometimes
favor this attitude of Japanese, but almost every international situation
works with direct and logical mindsets.
So I believe it’s good for young students to try to write their ideas
logically through preparing for Step Test.
