努力して見えるもの
先日あるスタッフと勉強について話していました。
「自分がどの程度か知るのが怖くて、努力から逃げてる
子って結構いますよね」
彼女が言いました。
「なるほど、そこは大事な点だよね」
私はそう返して、しばらく心の中で自問自答しました。
確かにこれは「あるある」です。
自分の苦い思い出も含めて、努力を逃げたら自分が見えない。
何かをやりきって出た結果こそ、次のステップに進むしるべになります。
高校生は先月、中学生は今月、部活がほぼ終わります。いよいよ
受験勉強の夏が始まります。PECでも夏期講習がスタートしました。
自分の定めた目標に向かって努力してください。結果はともかく
その努力によって見えてくるものこそ人生の宝です。

The other day I was talking with one of our staff members.
She said, “There are some students who avoid making efforts
because they are afraid to know how good they are in any specific
field.”
“Yeah, I agree. I have seen that type a lot.”
After this conversation, I kept thinking about that for a while.
Actually I remember some students who have this tendency and
also my personal experiences in which I gave up going on trying in order to
realize the limits of my abilities.
Only the results we managed to gain after making efforts will show us
where we should go next.
High school seniors have finished their club activities and started the summer to study.
Summer classes at PEC have also started.
I really hope our students will study hard this summer, because what they will gain
after their efforts is something very important. It will give them a treasure of life.
